China has become the world's largest producer and exporter of miscellaneous grains, with an annual planting area of 10 million hectares and a total output of more than 20 million tons.
Among them, the area of buckwheat, oats, millet and barley is about 35.08 million hectares, accounting for 3.8%; the area of millet and sorghum is about 2.4 million hectares, accounting for 2.3%; the area of mung bean, pea, broad bean and adzuki bean is about 3.2 million hectares, accounting for 2.6%. The total output of miscellaneous grains is about 19.7 million tons, accounting for 4.2% of the total national grain output.
Among them, the output of buckwheat, oats, millet and barley is about 766,000 tons, accounting for 1.6%; that of millet and sorghum is about 7.2 million tons, accounting for 1.5%; that of mung beans, peas, broad beans and adzuki beans is about 4.86 million tons, accounting for 1.1%.
From the point of view of distribution area, it mainly distributes in the north and central and Western regions; from the point of view of topographic distribution characteristics, it mainly distributes in plateau, mountainous area and hilly area; from the point of view of ecological environment distribution characteristics, it mainly distributes in areas with poor ecological conditions, such as semi-humid and semi-arid arid dry farming areas and alpine mountain areas; from the point of view of regional distribution of economic development degree, it mainly distributes in economically underdeveloped areas; Ethnic minority areas, border areas and other regions. Among them, the Loess Plateau is the region with large scale of production, more species of population and more concentrated distribution.
